Mommy
& Me Book Club
|
|
Gathering Activity
|
Puzzles exploration. I'll have a variety of puzzles out for the
kids to play with before we start.
|
Welcome
Announcements:
|
Welcome Song (tune: London Bridges)
Come along and clap with me,
Clap with me, clap with me.
Come along and clap with me,
It’s time for us to start.
|
Circle Time
|
The More We Get Together
Sing ABC song.
Count from 1-10 forward and backward.
|
Book Time
|
We'll be reading Jamberry
during our book time. I'll be
focusing on specific things that tie in with our activities.
|
Art Activity
(Fine motor skills activity)
|
We'll be making a strawberry
shaker/streamer to dance with like they do in the book.
|
Snack
|
We'll be having a variety of
berries for snack time. Each child
will be given a berry counting mat so they can practice their counting with
hands on manipulation.
**We also added that we made strawberry freezer jam together. It was super easy and the kids really enjoyed helping to make it (almost as much as they enjoyed helping to eat it). Sam likes to brag to everyone that he knows how to make jam now.
|
Game
(Gross motor skills
activity)
|
“Elephants skating on
raspberry jam.” We'll be pretending to
ice skate like the elephants in the story through an obstacle course using
grocery bags on our feet on the tile.
|
Closing
|
Good-bye Song (tune: Here We Are Together)
Now we wave good-bye,
Good-bye, good-bye.
Now we wave good-bye,
I’ll see you next time.

Resources:
This was a lesson that my friend, Meghann, did last year, but we weren't able to be there that day. So we borrowed. =)

I am a Wonder Mommy! I wonder how to do everything I need to do. I wonder how to be a good mom to my kids. I wonder how to be a good wife. I wonder how to teach my kids good things. I wonder how long I can go without sleep...I wonder, I wonder, I wonder!
On this blog, I will share my ideas for an at-home preschool that I do with my children, ideas for surviving motherhood, library story time ideas, ideas for my various LDS callings, Family Home Evening ideas, and whatever other random ideas that I have. I borrow ideas from the world of great minds and will try to give credit as much as possible. Thanks for dropping by!
